Austrian Pine
The Austrian Pine, scientific name Pinus nigra, is a densely branched conifer tree that produces long dark needles. This evergreen pine tree thrives in urban locations as well as a windbreaker in more rural settings. The Austrian Pine does very well in a variety of soils and is a very hardy tree. The spreading branches of a young Austrian Pine form a pyramidal shape, but at maturity, it has been known to achieve a picturesque flat topped head. This fast growing conifer tree makes an excellent Christmas tree. The Austrian Pine will tolerate limestone or acidic soils, dry rocky locations and windy conditions. The Austrian Pine is a wonderful tree for screening because it is dense!
